Black & White

Far from spelling the end of black-and-white photography, digital techniques have made many creative processes easier - this is the book that helps devotees of black-and-white photography move into the digital age.The digital revolution has made the experience of producing prints quicker and cleaner, but tends to assume that you are always dealing with colour photographs. This book explains how black-and-white photography is not only possible using digital technology but actually allows greater flexibility and creativity than ever before. It covers the basics of scanning, manipulation and printing, as well as demonstrating some of the more advanced techniques that can be achieved in the digital darkroom.

Description #1 by Etsy - agapedesignmfg:

"Butterfly and Flowers" I photographed this beautiful butterfly during the Eden Park Annual Butterfly Exhibit. There were many exotic butterflies fluttering all over but this one seemed to pick me out and take a liking to me. Since she was such a camera hog for me I took full advantage of her kindness and clicked this beauty! It's a digital image and I used a few filters in Photoshop to try and make it look more like a painting than a photograph for the effect I had in mind. I hope you approve! The copyright watermark will not be on your print. The print is available for a frame size of 8" x 10". Although you may prefer to use a matte, there is no actual need as I like to leave white space around my work. If you are interested in a different size you can convo me and I will be happy to make a custom posting for any size you want. Photographer's Bio My name is Bill Egner and the second photo included above is a reflective self-portrait of me. I would like to tell you a little bit about myself and my photographic art. My father sparked my interest in photography at a young age as he was a photographer himself. I grew up in the Colerain area on a farm and had the luxury of having a darkroom in my basement. I graduated from Colerain Vocational School in 1974 where I completed a two-year course in the Graphic Arts program. I continued my education by attending classes at Cincinnati Technical College, and evening Adult Education Classes at Colerain Senior High. I am currently the Graphics/Photographer at Agape Design, but my true passion is in capturing images of beauty and interest from the surrounding area. My interests in photography are wide in range and I have tried my hand at just about every avenue of subject matter. Photographic art has no boundaries. When I see something that I would like others to see I photograph it to save that moment in time. Most of my images are from the Cincinnati area, however, I also like taking photographic excursions to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. I use a wide array of photographic techniques. I shoot color, black & white, infrared black & white and digital. As photo technology rapidly changes, I have come to realize that new techniques and products are not a substitute for older proven ways. I try to keep it simple and fun. I like to get out in all types of weather and look for one of a kind images. My images are a reflection of what has meaning and purpose to me ... landscapes and religious subjects seem to be what I am drawn to most. Though the light of day is how most of us see the world, beautiful images can be captured from other light sources as well. I have found that darkness of night and artificial or natural light sources can also produce stunning images. All photographs are signed and can be framed for display with very little effort. Any standard frame for an 8 x 10 photo will work great. Since framing images can get quite expensive, I have left ample white space around my images so that no matte is necessary. Although I have been creating images for most of my life, I am extremely new at printing them and offering them to others. If you decide to invest in any of them, I truly hope that they bring joy to your eye as well as your heart. If any of my work has sparked an interest in photography in you, don't hesitate to get out there just like me and start saving those moments in time for yourself and others to enjoy for a lifetime.
